Pre -College Programme
The This programme is designed to enable applicants who do not initially satisfy VTDI’s matriculation requirements, to matriculate into VTDI’s programmes. A menu of courses is offered in a variety of areas. The number of courses to be selected by each applicant is dependent on the level/quantity of qualification that they already possess. An applicant who does not have a passing grade in Mathematics and/or English and is accepted on a standard programme, is required to pursue and successfully complete within year one, Pre-College English 1 & 2 and Pre-College Mathematics 1 & 2 courses OR CSEC English and CSEC Mathematics, OR City & Guilds English and Mathematics. Upon successful completion of all courses, students then become eligible to matriculate into the programme of their choice. Seminars and workshops form an integral part of this curriculum.
Entry Requirements- Minimum of one subject in CSEC (Grades 1 – 3) or GCE (Grades A-C)
- City and Guilds (Stage 3)
- NVQ-J Level 2
- Other equivalencies accepted by the VTDI Academic Board, inclusive of Mature Entry.
- Duration: 1 year
- Delivery: Blended
- Target group: Graduates from High Schools having been exposed to a vocation/technical-based curriculum or persons who have not satisfied VTDI’s matriculation requirements but who desire to pursue one of VTDI’s programmes.
